Shelters In Crisis!!
Shelters across the country are in crisis right now, overloaded with unwanted rabbits who are in danger of being euthanized. Blame it on Easter "impulse purchases" or simply the amazing reproductive capabilities of rabbits, but once again this year, If you can find room in your home, please consider helping your local shelter or rescue by adopting or fostering a bunny in need - you'll be saving a life. Literally.

Easter And Bunnies Don't Mix

Please Don't Give Pets As Gifts!!
Shelters and rescues are inundated with animals that were given as gifts to people who didn't really want them and don't know how to take care of them. They expect this year to be no different, beginning on the day after Christmas. Please don't give a live animal as a gift - give a stuffed plush toy instead, or consider making a donation to a rescue or shelter in someone's name as a gift. Just please don't give a live animal as a gift - it requires a lifelong commitment to the pet, and too often they get shortchanged. Thanks!!

Update August 4, 2008: Well it seems that Junebug and Spice have decided to go their seperate ways. Junebug recently went in to have her incisors removed, and Spice went with her. Spice became a bit to "frisky" with Junebug, causing her already tender mouth to bleed, so they were seperated. Once back at their foster home, Junebug wanted nothing to do with Spice.

So, Junebug and Spice are available as singles.

Spice is a sweet lovable bun, who likes attention, and may want to rebond.

Junebug is social and lovable, and seems content without a bondmate. Maybe a gentle cat or dog would be fine.

Note: due to dental issues, Junebug had to have incisors removed. She has recovered fine, and has no problem eating.

Junebug's dental work was sponsored by Lisa N..
These two girls are approx 1 yr old, 4-4.5lbs. Spice is white with tan spots, and Junebug is white with black spots and black around her eyes. They are Dwarf/English Spot mixes. They came into 3 Bunnies care, because Junebug needs incisor removal (scheduled in 3 weeks). They had lived in an outdoor hutch.

These sisters are playful and energetic. Spice is the curious one, wanting to know everything that is going on (maybe even give instructions on how to do things!)

Junebug has a little bit of a "mischief maker" in her, which can be so adorable. These girls are social and do not mind being held. They have been around children, and probably would be fine with a gentle dog and/or cat

Thanks for reading!!

3 Bunnies In Pets Press Newspaper

3 Bunnies Rabbit Rescue has been in Pets Press monthly newspaper. We list an adoptable rabbit/s and put in an ad. We are sometimes featured in other areas of the paper and are often asked rabbit questions of the paper when they are writing articles. Susan Curtiss answers the bunny expert questions in the paper. To find out where to get this free newspaper, go to www.petspress.net. You can also subscribe to the paper and get it delivered in the mail. It is a great pet resource paper and some of our local, fellow rescues are also in it.
