Shelters In Crisis!!
Shelters across the country are in crisis right now, overloaded with unwanted rabbits who are in danger of being euthanized. Blame it on Easter "impulse purchases" or simply the amazing reproductive capabilities of rabbits, but once again this year, If you can find room in your home, please consider helping your local shelter or rescue by adopting or fostering a bunny in need - you'll be saving a life. Literally.

Easter And Bunnies Don't Mix

Please Don't Give Pets As Gifts!!
Shelters and rescues are inundated with animals that were given as gifts to people who didn't really want them and don't know how to take care of them. They expect this year to be no different, beginning on the day after Christmas. Please don't give a live animal as a gift - give a stuffed plush toy instead, or consider making a donation to a rescue or shelter in someone's name as a gift. Just please don't give a live animal as a gift - it requires a lifelong commitment to the pet, and too often they get shortchanged. Thanks!!

Adopted December 4, 2005 by Thyrza and her four legged "kids"!!
Hi, my name is Bob. I'm a small black and white lop bunny, and I've had a rough time. I had some tooth problems, and my last owner didn't want to take care of me, so he put my cage on a street corner with a sign that said "Free, take me". I guess my human just didn't like me any more. I was so scared to be left outside like that, and I was sad that no one wanted me. I know my teeth have problems, but I'm still sweet and loving, I like being held and getting attention, and I really love people. Why would my human just leave me out on the street?

Luckily, someone working on a lawn nearby saw me and called the police, and they called 3 Bunnies, and they came and rescued me. I was so happy that some humans still cared about me. My teeth were so twisted and deformed, they were growing into my cheeks - and it really hurt! I had ulcers in my mouth, I couldn't eat properly, and I didn't feel well at all.

The nice people from 3 Bunnies took me to the doctor and had my teeth trimmed so I could eat. Then they took me back to the doctor to have some of my teeth removed so I wouldn't have this problem again. I'm so much happier now that I can eat, and when I'm done eating I flop over on my side for a nice nap. I'm not scared any more. My mouth doesn't hurt any more, and now that I'm in a nice warm environment, I'm having fun flirting with the girl bunnies here and soaking up all the TLC I can get!!

I hope that someone out there will still want me and love me, and give me a nice indoor home so I can enjoy being a house bunny and sharing love with my humans. I don't want to be abandoned on the street ever again!

Thanks for reading!!
Bob
