Shelters In Crisis!!
Shelters across the country are in crisis right now, overloaded with unwanted rabbits who are in danger of being euthanized. Blame it on Easter "impulse purchases" or simply the amazing reproductive capabilities of rabbits, but once again this year, If you can find room in your home, please consider helping your local shelter or rescue by adopting or fostering a bunny in need - you'll be saving a life. Literally.

Easter And Bunnies Don't Mix

Please Don't Give Pets As Gifts!!
Shelters and rescues are inundated with animals that were given as gifts to people who didn't really want them and don't know how to take care of them. They expect this year to be no different, beginning on the day after Christmas. Please don't give a live animal as a gift - give a stuffed plush toy instead, or consider making a donation to a rescue or shelter in someone's name as a gift. Just please don't give a live animal as a gift - it requires a lifelong commitment to the pet, and too often they get shortchanged. Thanks!!

A note about hyperlinks and their colors on this website:
Nearly all the "thumbnail" images (those that are 150 pixels wide) are also links - if you click on them they will either take you to another webpage on the 3bunnies.org website, or they will show you a full-sized image

Nearly all hyperlinks are this color (a shade of blue) and are underlined (except for the navigation links, which are dynamically highlighted as you move the mouse over them). When you move the mouse over a hyperlink (aka hover), an underline will appear (if it wasn't already there) and the text will change color in the following ways:
  • This color (a shade of orange) takes you to another location on the 3bunnies.org website.
  • This color (a shade of green) takes you to a page on another website and should open in a new browser window (there may be a slight delay before the new window appears). This is done so that you can easily keep your place on the 3bunnies.org website from the original window where you clicked the link.
Note: Buttons for getting maps or satellite photos will also open a new browser window.
Note: your webmaster is well aware that it is also our policy to NOT link to any sites that cause further popups, pop-unders, or other windows to appear because it is a waste of resources. We just don't want you to lose your place on our website, so we'd rather have you open the new window, read the article and hopefully learn more or at least bookmark it or mark it as a favorite, and when your done with that session on the other site, close the window and you still have the original 3bunnies page that set you there. Many people lose their place and/or forget what their original intent was in visiting a new website, and the end-result (it has happened to everyone) is that our visitors may forget that they were visiting us.
  • This color (a shade of red) is a "mailto" link - it tells your email client (Outlook, Eudora, Thunderburd, etc.) to begin writing a new email message addressed to the address listed (there may be a slight delay before the email client starts this process) and once again, your location on our website is preserved.
Note: in most web browsers, there is a status bar (usually at the bottom of the browser window) that shows you the destination address when you move the mouse over a hyperlink.

Note on our use of hyperlinks to other sites:
We try our best not to link to any sites that are supported by advertising by creating a lot of "pop-up" and "pop-under" browser windows because this is a waste of resources on your computer (and will slow down older computers), confusing to many web users, distracting and annoying to all, and contrary to our efforts to educate people about bunnies.

The links on this website have been very carefully selected, and we do not allow random input on any publicity we might provide someone else. For example, all of the vets listed on our site were recommended to 3bunnies either by those involved with our organization or those involved with sister rescues - people we know and trust or ourselves. Sometimes we get requests to list new entries, and we investigate such organizations before we will consider listing them on our site. We take pride in helping people help their bunnies, and the last thing we want is to send someone to a vet that doesn't know how to treat rabbits, lest the rabbit suffer the consequences.

All of the listings on this site where we point the reader to another organization (vets, resources, places to get supplies, etc) are here because 3 Bunnies Rabbit Rescue endorses it based on experience (not hear-say, urban legend, old wive's tales, and what not). They are all subject to regular scrutiny, and in very few instances someone has told us that they were disappointed with our recommendation, we have actually removed entries in their respective listings and no longer endorse those resources. We try our best not to point people to websites that would mislead them or waste their time, and we don't want to point people toward organizations that are not acting in the very best interests of rabbits.

Additionally, we do not participate in any link-exchange programs with other websites, as this is simply a request for us to advertise their website and to help their rankings in search engines (see following note). Although such requests always are accompanied with an offer to reciprocate, we do not feel that we need the extra help in having our own site found by those seeking the information we provide. Our web presence is strongly focused on particular concepts and endeavors, and we feel that it is a compromise of our integrity to provide links that are not consistent with our own focus, which excludes any concern for the success of other websites. We will, however, consider such requests if and only if the content of the website in question is consistent with our focus. Most are not. You may find some links that appear to stray from this policy, but in fact such websites donate relatively significant percentages of their profits to animal rescues (rabbit or other), and/or were deemed sufficiently appropriate for certain pages, such as our just for fun or shopping pages.

Note on search engine ranking: beside the quality of the match between the text you searched for and the pages that the search engine found, there is another factor in how high the page is ranked - how many other websites link to those pages (in other words, how many other people found those pages useful enough to "vote" for them by linking to them). The higher the ranking for the match, the earlier in the list it appears. The highest ranking match is the top-listed (unsponsored) link that the search engine will return, and will likely be the very first link you will click. Every webmaster strives to be listed first, or at least on the first page, and 3bunnies is no exception - the more people who come to our website, the more opportunity we get to educate them about rabbits. We hope that those webmasters who find out website useful will link to us, but we do NOT request such "back-linking" as it is only fair that our ranking be consistent with how helpful we are. Other rescues rank higher than us, and we salute them, but we do not ask that they link to us. Almost all of them do, but it is their choice.

If you feel that any hyperlink on this website is inappropriate, no longer active, or in any way contrary to our main objective of educating people about rabbits and helping find homes for the unwanted, or if you follow our recommendation and are dissatisfied with your experience, please send an email to webmaster@3bunnies.org and let us know for immediate correction. If you are dissatisfied with an organization that we recommended, we will contact that organization (on our own behalf - your information will never come up), and please see our privacy policy if you have any questions about expressing your concerns to us. If we are unable to correct the situation (where we act as the go-between, thus maintaining your privacy), then we will remove the recommendation with prejudice from our website.
